Students will improve their physical fitness, flexibility and coordination, and relieve stress through traditional karate. They will improve focus and concentration through the constant mental challenge of learning new techniques and terminology while adjusting to this highly-disciplined art. Karate is more than just self-defense; students will develop respect, self-confidence, motivation and perseverance through workouts that require discipline and a positive attitude. 1:12 ratio.
REFUND POLICY: Thank you for participating with the Boynton Beach Recreation & Parks Department! We are committed to customer satisfaction by offering high quality recreation programs at reasonable prices. If you are not satisfied with a class or are unable to participate for any reason, please contact us. A full refund will be issued to anyone who completes a Refund Request Form prior to the start of the second class. No refunds will be issued after the start of the second class or after the date an event is held. (Exception: Summer Camp Programs). Refund checks take approximately three weeks. Participants may choose a credit in lieu of a refund. Refund of payments made by check will not be processed until 3 weeks from the original transaction date.
ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY: The City of Boynton Beach does not permit smoking indoors, alcohol (except in designated areas during certain special events and/or unless a special permit has been issued), drugs, fireworks or the use or threat of use of weapons. In addition, theft, destruction of property, or any violent or inappropriate activity of any kind will not be tolerated. Any violation will result in immediate dismissal from program with no refund. If the incident involves a youth participant, parents will be expected to pick up their child immediately.
LATE PICK-UP FEE: Please be on time when picking up your child from a camp/program. A late fee of $1.00 per minute will be charged for any participant picked up after the scheduled camp/program ending time.
ACCOUNT CHANGES: Please notify us immediately if your address, phone number, email address or emergency contacts change so that we can update your account and ensure accurate information is on file.
If you or your child has a disability, impairment or condition that requires medication or other accommodations, please inform the City of Boynton Beach Recreation & Parks Department of your needs before the program begins to ensure that the department is prepared to address them. Once you submit a modification request, the City of Boynton Beach Recreation & Parks Department will consider on a case-by-case basis and will attempt to accommodate you or your child within a reasonable amount of time. Please contact the Recreation & Parks Department's Recreation & Assessment Coordinator at (561) 742-6649 at least two (2) weeks prior to the program or activity in order for the Department to reasonably accommodate your request.
ALLERGIES/MEDICATIONS: If you or your child has allergies or medications of which the Department should be aware, please provide that information and/or ensure that your record is current and accurate.
