R21-045 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, 4 FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY 5 CLOSING OF THE LANES IN THE 2000 BLOCK OF 6 STATE ROAD 5 700 FEET OF THE RIGHT LANE 7 HEADING NORTHBOUND AND 400 FEET OF THE 8 LEFT LAND HEADING SOUTHBOUND ON SUNDAY, 9 JULY 4, 2021 FOR THE ANNUAL 4TH OF JULY 10 CELEBRATION AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY 11 MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO APPLY FOR STATE 12 PERMITS FOR THE TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE; 13 PROVIDING FOR EFFECTIVE DATE. 14 15 WHEREAS,the City of Boynton Beach's annual 4th of July Celebration is scheduled 16 to be held on Sunday,July 4, 2021; and 17 WHEREAS,in order to provide for the safety of the participants and citizens attending 18 the celebration a portion of State Road 5 in the 2000 block will be required to be closed 19 beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.; and 20 WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation requires the local government 21 to authorize all temporary road closures on state roadways; and 22 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach desires to authorize 23 the temporary closing of a portion of State Road 5 in the 2000 block on July 4,2021,to provide 24 for the safety of the participants and citizens attending the 4th of July Celebration; and 25 WHEREAS, the City Manager (or designee) is authorized to apply for the permit for 26 temporary closing of state roads for special events, pursuant to Chapter 14-65, Florida 27 Administrative Code, for said temporary closings; 28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF 29 THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: 30 Section 1. The foregoing"WHEREAS"clauses are true and correct and hereby 31 ratified and confirmed by the City Commission 32 Section 2. That the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach authorizes the 33 temporary closing of State Road 5 in the 2000 Block on July 4, 2021 for the annual 4th of July 34 Celebration. The City Manager (or designee) is hereby authorized to apply for 36 permits from the Florida Department of Transportation pursuant to Chapter 14-65, Florida 37 Administrative Code, for said temporary closings. 38 Section 4.
