A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
ACCEPTING UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
AGENCY GRANT UNDER FEDERAL WATER POLLUTION CONTROL
ACT AMENDMENTS OF 1972 AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF
GRANT AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, has heretofore applied for a
Federal Grant for the design of force mains and lift stations to transport wastewater
to the South Central Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (Step II); and
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach has been notified by the U. S. Environ-
mental Protection Agency that a Federal Grant in the amount of $335,170.00 has been
approved for the preparation of plans and specifications for the proposed wastewater
treatment facilities under the provisions of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act
Amendments of 1972;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH,' FLORIDA:
bec%ion 1: That the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, gratefully accepts the
Federal Grant in the amount of $335,170.00 under the Federal Water Pollution Control
Act Amendments of 1972 for the preparation of plans and specifications for force
mains and lift stations to transport wastewater to the South Central Regional Waste-
water Treatment Plant (Step II).
Section 2_ : The City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, has re-
all Standard and Special conditions of said Grant and is in agreement there-
with with the exception of the payment schedule. Accordingly, the Mayor or, in his
absence, the Vice Mayor and the City Clerk or, in her absence, the Deputy Clerk of
the City of Boynton Beach shall be and they are hereby authorized to act for the City
in entering into and executing the Grant Agreement with the U. S. Environmental
Protection Agency as presently drawn, with the exception that the payment schedule
should be revised to include full payment and compensation for engineering costs
and related studies by December, 1976.
Section 3: That the City Manager of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, is
hereby directed to deliver three (3) certified copies of this Resolution to the Office
of the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency, together with the executed Grant
Agreement in revised form as provided in Section 2 above.
