77-UU RESOL ION NO. 77- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING THAT THE BOARD OF PALM BEACH COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ADOPT A 1977'78 ~BUDGET WHICH ALLOCATES THE ENTIRE :COST OF THE. SHERIFF'S ROAD PATROL TO THE MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXING UNIT ENACTED FOR THE UNINCORPORATED AREA OF PALM BEACH COUNTY. WHEREAS, 55% or 136 of the Sheriff's 246 employees are engaged inroad Patrol and spend, by the Sheriff's estimate, over 90% of their time servicing the unincorporated area of Palm Beach County'; and WHEREAS, out of a 13 million dollar Sheriff's budget, only 3.3 million dollars is allocated as the cost of the Road Patrol; and WHEREAS, it is established practice of the Board of Palm Beach County Commissioners to tax the unincorporated area for this Road Patrol service~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1: That the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, respectfully requests that the Board of Palm Beach County Commissioners continue established practice and allocate, in the 1977-78 Budget, the entire cost of the Sheriff's Road Patrol to the Municipal Service Taxing Unit enacted for the unincorporated area of Palm Beach County. Section 2: That the City Clerk is hereby authorized to mail a certified copy of this Resolution to each Member of the Board of Palm Beach County Commissioners.
