79-V RESOLUTION 79- ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THg~CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE DEMOLI~IQN OF UNSAFE A~ND UI~soUND STRUCTURES PURSUA~T' TO THE C~DEOF 0RDINANCHS OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTIN~ THAT THE BOARD OF COUNTY CO~-R~SStONERS OF PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA DEMOLISH SUCH UNSAFE STRUCTURES AND IMPOSm mIENS AGAINST THE PARCELS FOR THE COST OF DEMOLITION. WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, has caused an investigation to be conducted by the mun- icipal building, engineering and sanitation departments to dis- cover the existence of unsafe and unsound buildings within the City of Boynton Beach; and ~{EREAS, said departments have filed their reoorts with the City Manager, and the City Manager has made his recommendation to the City Council that the properties listed in the attached schedule have located thereon dilapidated, unsound and unsafe buildings and structures which constitute public hazards and nuisances, and that said structures and buildings should be dem- olished and removed in or,er to protect the public health and safety of the inhabitants of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida; and WHEREAS, due notice has been furnished no the owners of sub- ject properties requesting voluntary demolition of subject struc- tures; and WHEREAS, said owners have said direction. NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, Section 1. That the City sound snructures exist on the failed and refused to comply with IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS: Council finds that unsafe and un- prpperties described in the schedule attached hereto and made a part hereof which should be reraoved by demolition, at the cosn of the owners of said parcels, in order to protect the public health, safety and welfare of the inhabi- tants of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida; and based upon said findings, respectively requests that the Board of County CoCnmis- sioners of Palm Beach County, Florida, institute necessary steps for the demolition and removal of said unsafe structures and to impose liens against subject parcels for the cost thereof. Section 2~ That this Resolutio~ shall upon its passage. PASSED A biD ADOPTED this 1st day of May, take effect inmnediately 1979.
