OR SERIf/CE CHARGES LEVIED SOI~.Ly LPON P~ESIDENTS E.STABLZ~ OF A lv~3NTCIPAL SERVIcE ~ ~%~m~., ON (1) OF SAID SEOI'±ON 125.01, FLORIDA'STA~, OR BY REM~T~G THE ~//~IN~IFiED COST OF SERVICE'P~ BY THE · ~, FLORIDA; AND FOR OTHER RURPOSEs~ ?~EREAS, Section 125.01(6)(a), Florida Statu~es, establishes the method and procedure by which the governing body of a nzm/cipality may petition the Board of County Cc~nissioners to develop an appropriate mechanism to finance services and activities rendered specially for the benefit of the property or residents in unincorporated areas and financed frc~ county-wide revenues; and WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach bas, ~-nd does hereby find and determine that the follo~ services now financed frc~ county-wide revenues are rendered _specially~ for the benefit of the property or residents in the unincorporated areas and the property owners in the City of Boynton Beach receive no real or substantial benefits from said services, to-wit: 1. Law enforcement tempered through the Sheriff's Road Patrol including the overhead, communications and administration related thereto. 2. Erection and maintenance of traffic signs and signals. 3. Erection and maintenance of street identification signs. 4. Operation of the County Planm_ing, Zoning and Building Department. Construction and ~ntenance of neighborhood parks and recreation areas. Construction and maintenance of subdivision street system. Constr~ction and maintenance of the County ~oad and Bridge System. 8. Maintenance of shellrock roads. 9. Installation mid maintensr~e of street lighting system, s. 10. CoD~struction and maintenance of ston~ drainage systems. 11. Az~f~nistration of solid waste collection systems. 12. Administration of fire control tax districts. 13. ~zt/linistration of land development programs. 14. Planning, acquisition, construction, maintenance and operation of water and sanitary sewer utility systems. 15. General administration for the County C~ssion including, but not limited to, the County Cc~mission, County Attorney, County Administrator; Radio Cc~%munications System, and Finance Office. 16. Rural lot cleaning program. NGW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS HEreBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY CO~4ISSION OF I~E CITY OF BOYNTON BEAC~ FLORIDA: Section 1. The City of Boynton Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, does hereby petition the Board of County Cc~auissioners of Palm Beach County, Florida, to develop an appropriate mechanism to fim~nce the activities and services above set forth either by taxes, special assessments, or service charges levied solely upon residents of property in the unincorporated areas, by the establishment of a rmlnicipal service taxing or benefit unit pursuant to psragraph (q) of subsection (1) of said Section 125.01, Florida Statutes, or by remitting the identified cost of services paid by the taxes levied upon property situate wit~hin the City of Boynton Beach. Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this Resolution with the Palm Beach County Clerk and deliver a copy unto each of the County Co~r~ssioners of Palm Beack County an~ the County Administrator.
