81-JJJJA RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO ADOPT RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR CERTIFICATION OF FOOD SERVICE WORKERS. WHEREAS, the Florida State Statutes, prior to 1975, re- certification of food service workers; and WHEREAS, effective July 1, 1975, the Florida State~ were repealed to the effect that the a'bove certification s no longer required; and WHEREAS, the Florida Administrative Code, Section 10D- L3.22 Definitions (15) reads: "Health authority', - The Department f Health and Rehabilitative Services (hereinafter referred to as rtment) or the director of a County health unit or their representative; and WHEREAS, the Florida Administrative Code, Section 10D- 13.34, Inspection of Food Service Establishments (1) The health ity shall inspect all food service esta'blishments and all where food is served or prepared .... for protection of the ~ublic health; and WHEREAS, the Palm Beach County Health Department should the agency responsible for this jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, recent newspaper articles haVe cited the sub- stantial increased incidents of acute infectious and communica'ble e, suspected as originating from uncertified food service ~s. NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City of Boynton Beach hereby requests the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners adopt rule~ regulations certifying that food service workers, prior to and each year thereafter, are free of any and all in- is and/or communiCable~diseases. Section 2. That the certificates and enforcement will ~be under the jurisdiction of the Palm Beach County Health Depart- merit. Section 3.
