A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING
THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT IN THE
AMOUNT OF $144,094.00, WITH THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH TO PROVIDE A 10% MATCHING
FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $16,010; AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID AWARD; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach Police Department applied for and
has been awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice; and
WHEREAS, said grant is in the amount of $144,094.00, with a local match
of 10%, which match totals $16,010.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach hereby
authorizes and directs the Mayor and City Clerk to accept and execute the Grant
from the U.S. Department of Justice in the amount of $144,094.00, and to provide
the sum of $16,010.00 to serve as the City's Local Match, which matching funds
have been provided for by the Police Department in the current budget. A copy of
the agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit "A."
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
passage.
