Meeting Minutes <br />City Commission <br />Boynton Beach, Florida <br />2. Adoption <br />Motion <br />May 2, 2017 <br />Commissioner McCray moved to approve the agenda as presented. The motion was duly <br />seconded by Commissioner Romelus. <br />Vote <br />The motion unanimously passed. <br />2. OTHER <br />A. Informational items by Members of the City Commission <br />Vice Mayor Katz attended the six-month update for Strategic Planning/Affordable <br />Housing/Workforce Housing Workshop, went to South Central Wastewater Treatment and <br />Disposal Board meeting, met with representatives of Hunters Run and Leisureville; two <br />communities in District 1, met with Jeff Sluggett, a medical marijuana approved cultivator in the <br />State, and attended the opening of Macy's Back Stage. <br />Commissioner McCray wanted to thank Vice Mayor Katz for attending the meeting in <br />Leisureville. Commissioner McCray attended the six-month Strategic Planning/Affordable <br />Housing workshop, attended the Delta Sigma Beta ceremony that recognized the scholastic <br />students on the south end chapter, and he thanked Chief Katz and Lt. Deale for traffic control, <br />and for getting the police car washed. He also went to the Concert on the Greens <br />Mayor Grant advised on April 19th he met with the Fitzgerald group, also attended the <br />Strategic Planning/Affordable Housing Workshop. On April 20th he attended the <br />Metropolitan Planning Organization meeting and got an update on Brightline.. They are going <br />to be doing multiple community outreach meetings regarding safety. We are in quiet zones <br />and there will not be a train horn. On Saturday between 9-1 pm, at 72 North Federal Highway, <br />Boca Raton is the kickoff event for the US 1 Multimodal Corridor study that goes through <br />Boynton Beach. Mayor Grant also attended the Boynton Beach Short Film Festival; this was <br />an amazing event. April 21St he attended the Sister Cities showcase giving scholarships to <br />students for artwork, poems and essays. April 22nd he became Thor for the Superheroes and <br />Princesses event at the Schoolhouse Children Museum and later in the day attended the <br />Concert on the Green. It was a wonderful event and he is looked forward to having more <br />events on the golf course. April 24th he attended CrossPoint Volunteer and Business Partner <br />luncheon and hosted an ambassador from Rauma, Finland. April 25th was St. Joseph <br />business day. April 26th he went to the Palm Beach County Legal Aide Sober Home Workshop <br />and Florida League of City event. Boynton Beach Raw had a meet and greet at Boardwalk Ice <br />Creamery and spoke at the Women's Circle support group. April 27th he attend the Junior <br />Honor Society at Franklin Academy, April 29th attended Macy's Backstage opening along with <br />Vice Mayor Katz and conducted Stars and Stripes Forever for the Gold Coast Band.
